House fee
11.5 percent
The house retains 11.5 percent of the amount actually received for a booking made through CAPE CULTURAL TOURS (PTY) LTD. That 11.5 percent is the house fee. The partner’s share is 88.5 percent, before any other written deduction.
On R1,000.00 the house fee is R115.00 and the provider’s balance is R885.00. The guest pays the advertised price. There is no second commission on top of that price.
The fee is calculated on the amount received, not on a figure that has already had the fee taken off. It is not taken twice.
A booking becomes commissionable when the guest has paid, PayFast or a confirmed EFT, and the service has been completed. An open request is not commissionable. A cancellation, or a refund before completion, takes no fee and leaves nothing owed to the provider. The original rate stays on the record.
PayFast Split Payments is not connected. The house records the provider balance. That record is not a payment. The provider is paid from the company account after completion, and only a recorded EFT reference marks that payment.
A new category uses this rate unless the director records a different future rate. A rate change applies to bookings opened after it. It does not recalculate a booking already stored.
An exception needs the director’s written reason and is stored on that booking only. A guide, a supplier, or a guest cannot change the rate.
An open restaurant table, where the bill is not fixed, keeps the arrival fee already in the booking terms: R50 a guest who arrives, unless a different amount was agreed in writing before the room was opened. No arrival, no fee. A fixed-price meal uses the 11.5 percent rule.
