Booking terms

CAPE CULTURAL TOURS (PTY) LTD is the house. A partner is an accepted guide, house, hotel, restaurant, or tour operator. A booking made on this site for a partner’s service is a house booking.

The guest pays the full advertised price to the house, for payout to the Capitec business account of CAPE CULTURAL TOURS (PTY) LTD, or the FNB business account. Payment is by EFT to the Capitec Business account of CAPE CULTURAL TOURS (PTY) LTD, or the FNB Business account, shown below. Card payment is not available yet. A request holds a place. It is paid only when the house confirms the EFT has been received.

The house retains 11.5 percent of the amount actually received. That 11.5 percent is the house fee. The partner’s share is 88.5 percent. A service advertised at R2 200 gives the house R253.00 and the partner R1 947.00, once the guest has paid and the booking is completed.

The house fee is taken only after the booking is marked completed. If the guest is refunded before completion, the house fee is not taken and the partner is not paid. A failed or unpaid booking pays nothing.

A booking where Jonathan Schaap is the guide, and the service is a Cape Cultural Tours service rather than a partner service, is not split. The company receives the full fee.

A hotel room or stay uses the 11.5 percent rule. The hotel must confirm the room before the booking is marked paid. If the hotel cannot honour it, the guest is refunded and no fee is taken. The stay is completed at checkout, not on the booking date. Only then does the hotel receive 88.5 percent.

A fixed-price meal, tasting menu, or set dinner uses the 11.5 percent rule. It is completed when the meal has been provided. An open table, where the bill is not fixed, is not split by percentage. The restaurant pays the agreed arrival fee for each guest who arrives. The opening arrival fee is R50 a guest, unless a different amount is agreed in writing before the room is opened. No arrival, no fee.

A partner does not receive guest money directly and does not get a staff login. PayFast Split Payments is not connected. These terms show the split, or the arrival fee, and the house records the amount due. That record does not mean the partner has already been paid.

The mountain and the wind still have a vote. We confirm the afternoon before. If a day is called off for weather, the refund goes back by the same method you paid.

CAPE CULTURAL TOURS (PTY) LTD takes the booking and the payment. The partner supplies the room, the meal, the vehicle, or the guiding. The house is not the hotel, the restaurant, or the operator, and is not liable for the partner’s acts, omissions, delays, or standard of service, except where the booking terms require a refund. A refund is due if the guest is refunded before completion, or if a confirmed hotel room cannot be honoured. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that the Consumer Protection Act does not allow to be excluded.
